Live Scan in Palo Alto
Live Scan fingerprinting in Palo Alto: this page lists 3 DOJ-listed Live Scan sites with a Palo Alto street address, with walk-in vs appointment, rolling fees, and other-day hours where the DOJ lists them. 2 are open Saturday for walk-ins (see Open Saturday below). It is not every DOJ site in Palo Alto; the rest are on the DOJ county list.
Who this is for: You have a California Request for Live Scan Service form (BCIA 8016) from an employer, licensing board, school, or agency, and you need fingerprints in the city of Palo Alto: on a weekday or a Saturday, with or without an appointment.
Not for: TSA PreCheck / IdentoGO (different vendor). Out-of-state ink cards unless the shop’s own page says they roll FD-258. I-9s or notary work. Shops in other Santa Clara County cities (Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, and San Jose already have their own pages).

Other-day hours are copied from each shop’s DOJ detail page. “—” means the DOJ page did not list them or could not be read that day; open the DOJ link. “Saturday only on DOJ” means DOJ lists no other day. Store hours are not fingerprint hours. Confirm with the shop before you go.
How this was verified
Rows below are only shops whose Palo Alto city street address is on the California DOJ Public Live Scan Sites list and whose dedicated DOJ hours include Saturday (or Weekends) and Walk-in(s).
- Primary: CA DOJ Live Scan locations, Santa Clara County (accessed 2026-09-23)
- Per-location DOJ pages linked in each row (accessed 2026-09-23)
- Operator pages were not used to create rows. Nobody was called.
Nobody was called. DOJ itself says to confirm hours and fees before you go. If a cell could not be verified, it is marked UNVERIFIED.
Go / no-go before you leave
- Form first. The requesting agency fills the ORI / OCA / job title. A blank 8016 from the internet is usually rejected. DOJ: Applicants.
- Unexpired photo ID. Expired IDs are not accepted (DOJ applicants page, accessed 2026-09-23).
- Two fees. (a) Rolling fee = the shop’s price in the table. (b) DOJ/FBI processing = extra, amount depends on your agency. Some agencies put a billing number on the form so you only pay rolling. There is no honest single “Live Scan costs $X” number.
- Cash vs card. Both INCLUDE rows list Cash plus card / check options on DOJ. DOJ: “check for any restrictions on method of payment, such as cash or money order only.”
- Store hours ≠ fingerprint hours. UPS and retail pages advertise shipping / notary hours. Live Scan Saturday hours are the DOJ column.
- Walk-ins vs walk-ins & appointments. Certifix Green Mail lists Walk-ins on Saturday (no appointments listed for that day). UPS #6105 lists Walk-ins & Appointments — appointments may still jump the line.
- Mobile flag. Certifix Green Mail lists Mobile Services Available on DOJ. This page is for the Palo Alto street address above — mobile pricing was not verified (nobody called).
- Two INCLUDE rolling fees. Cheapest INCLUDE is $35.00 (UPS #6105); highest is $40.00 (Certifix Green Mail).
Official state / FBI processing examples (not your total; purpose codes differ): DOJ Custodian of Records page lists state $32.00 and federal $17.00 for that specific COR submission (source, accessed 2026-09-23). The statewide Applicant Fingerprint Processing Fees PDF is still labeled “As of August 17, 2012 — Subject to Change.” Do not budget from it.

Sorted by Saturday open time, then rolling fee. “Walk-ins” alone means DOJ lists walk-ins and does not list appointments for that day. “Walk-ins & appointments” means DOJ lists both; appointments may still jump the line. “Weekends” on DOJ covers Saturday.

The official list still lies
DOJ’s own disclaimer (accessed 2026-09-23): contact providers “in advance to verify their current operating hours, fees, etc.” This page is a filtered Saturday walk-in list for the city of Palo Alto, not a dump of the county search. Appointment-only shops and weekday-only shops stay off the include table on purpose; other cities in the county stay off this page.
After you scan
Results go to the requesting agency, not to you (DOJ applicants page). Keep the yellow copy / ATI number. If prints reject, resubmission rules are the agency’s, not the shop’s.
